VISION

vision_water_fire.jpg

At the prior phase, someone realized there’s a better way, and this came in the form of an idea, or what some might describe as a vision.

Focus upon developing a crisp and easily-understood vision is the basis of this step, and at the end you have a well-articulated vision which can be described in steps, and easily-described by others (meaning: some distillation of your vision may be necessary)

Q: how do you know you're ready to progress to the next step?

You are ready to progress to the community building step if you are able to distill your team's vision into 100, 30, and 10 word statements; if your team's vision describes a few steps that can be taken in the short-term, mapping to the long term (the VSEM model), and if it’s a vision which can be easily articulated by others.
